Do You Honestly Care What They Think….I Don’t!

OK, don’t get all worked up here! I am not talking about someone who goes out of their way to be “nasty!” I do not mean that person who is always telling you that you look tired and asks you if you gained weight, or something! I am not even talking about your boss, who you are trying to impress…well, wait a second….maybe I am talking about that boss of yours! Who do they think they are anyway? What gives them the right to be “nasty” and rude? I mean, just because you are the boss…it does not mean your sh*t don’t stink! Right? I know that is a crude way of looking at it, but am I right? Simple life comparison is doable in my book! I mean, I will always be respectful of their title, but they need to earn my respect with their actions. They do not get that automatically. I know, you think I get fired a lot, don’t you? Well, I don’t. I have my integrity intact and I earn respect from others, just like I think everyone should be doing. So, do I really care when someone makes an “ugly” comment to me? No, because I consider the source! Do I care if someone very important to me makes a “nasty” comment? Well, that is a different story. I would allow them more leeway! So, I guess what I am trying to say is…in my opinion…do not get all stressed out over words and rude actions, be smart and consider the source!

  1. I will try that. I have to remember that I should not let everyone bring me down to their level. It is hard, but work is not easy when it means a positive thing.

  2. don’t stop believin!
    newman

  3. Once again, a really cute picture.
Yeah, I agree that we have to look at he person who insults us and decide whether he’s worth getting upset about.
The annoying comments are, more often than not, out of jealousy…

  4. I could watch that lady eat chips all day. That’s so funny. Boy that’s a tough one work etiquette. Polite boundaries a boss or a manager is just a person like any one. If I say stand up for yourself, and a person gets fired? oops. Or sing Take this job and sho** it. Not good .

  5. You and I seem to be a lot alike in many ways Luisa. I have a post ready to go in one day this week about people just “not caring” about things you want or respecting your wishes. It’s the most personal one I’ve ever written. It’s hard for me to be “that honest” on my blog since so many of my family members “gather” there. But I blew my top one day last week and let’s just say, it blew!! I hope I’m brave enough to publish it.

I feel you should respect everyone from the youngest 4 year old in your family to the oldest 72 year old. Age has nothing to do with respect in my opinion. We all “deserve” it. Some do lose it and it has to be earned back but nobody should be rude or disrespectful to anyone else. I honestly do believe that you should treat others the way you wish to be treated.

    Great post as usual.

  6. fireway, as long as you are giving it your all , you should be recognized for your efforts!

  7. I hear you newman! Same to you! I came by your blog, like it! Great work!

  8. pastfirst, that jealousy thing is hard to work with, huh? I wish people would be happy with what they have in life, if not strive to do better…in their eyes.

  9. starla, I know a manager or boss is a person, too! That was always the titles I held! Right now, I am self employed, so it is a lot easier. But when I was a manager or the boss, I always considered all my staff as equals, until they decided they wanted to be something else! All I am saying is…mutual respect is important. It is earned, not a given thing. I went into positions in a company where everyone “hated” me just because I was the new manager they hired! That was not fair to me, was it? I had a lot of respect earning to do at that job, and I did!

  10. Thanks Joy! Lots of times when something is really bothering me, I find writing about it on this blog helps! I have some family and friends who make comments and look at my stuff, and they are not always in agreement! That is life! I have also deleted stuff because I have found just writing my feelings and thoughts down was all I needed to “get on with life, get over it!” So, it will be your call. So, maybe I will get to read it, or maybe you will go with plan B! Your family should be happy and proud to have someone as talented and nice in it, as you are! Thanks for your nice comment!

  11. Believe in yourself CAP!

  12. I was talking to my Dad on the phone the other day . The word blog came up and my dad said do you have a blog? I said “Yes” What is it ?” I said let me get it up and running lol I never say no to my dad but I like a place I can let my hair down and not worry about being grammatically correct. And it’s nice to have a place just to be ,and not worry about it too much. I guess I’m a little worried about the grammar thing looking into a class. Why are you taking this class so I don’t look like an idiot on my blog.

  13. Joy said it all in one sentence! Treat others as you would like to be treated. I have always tried to live by this motto!

If you treat people with respect and honesty, I think it’s only fair to expect the same in return no matter who they are.

  14. Well Gary, in a perfect world..that is the way it should be! Let’s hope more people have this attitude!

  15. Starla, you are worrying too much about things! Have fun with it! I wish my dad were alive today to share this craziness with me! I know it takes time…just go at your pace!
