Let the celebrations begin……Happy Thanksgiving*

It is that wonderful time of the year again. The time I reflect and think about all of the things I am grateful for in this life. I tend to have these moments all year long, but it seems like they mean more at Thanksgiving. I am one of those people that like to go around the dinner table and have everyone share with each other. My family and friends expect these moments, new guests to my home just give me that look. lol I just ask everyone to share one event in their life in 2012 that really made them grateful to be who they may be. I treasure each day I am given, so I would hope others could say the same.

This year my COURAGE to keep moving ahead was tested often. I have had some MINOR health issues that I let get to me this year. Usually I just ignore them. I have had my mom undergoing various little medical treatments that made me think too much about her aging. We all age, right? I have been blessed with my son who moved to Texas moving back home. I needed the courage to get him home safe. He is now already working at another job and is doing well.I have had to balance negative feelings with more positive feelings when I was in the position of helping some friends or family members in a crisis situation. I wanted to remain strong so I could help them succeed. If you look up my name and its definition….it does seem to fit.

A Thanksgiving Poem I Wrote*

I wrote this poem last year, but I wanted to post it again in time for the holidays Have fun reading it! Can you relate?

WHAT’S A FUNNY HOLIDAY STORY YOU FEEL LIKE SHARING?

FAMILY TIMES

It’s great to have family!

They’re amusing as Hell!

When we all get together,

all we do is YELL, YELL, YELL!

I am especially amused,

When the grandparents say,

” One day I’ll be dead and you’ll

be sorry you acted this way!”

Then the parents chime in

and say, “Shut up, that’s not nice!.”

I am ready to say something,

but I just ” stop ” and think twice!

Why bother, I figure

It all sounds the same,

I guess we have anxiety

and stress to blame!

But when the pleasant event is

all said and done,

We give each other hugs good-bye,

and say “THIS WAS FUN!”

You figure it out!

Looking over her carefully, Harold replied, ‘Judging from your skin, twenty; your hair, eighteen; and your figure, twenty five.’

‘Oh, you flatterer!’ she gushed.

‘Hey, wait a minute!’ Harold interrupted. ‘I haven’t added them up yet.’

2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.
3. It’s Cool Whip time!
4. If I don’t undo my pants, I’ll burst!
5. That’s one terrific spread!
6. I’m in the mood for a little dark meat.
7. Are you ready for seconds yet?
8. Its a little dry, do you still want to eat it?
9. Just wait your turn, you’ll get some!
10. Don’t play with your meat.
11. Just spread the legs open & stuff it in.
12. Do you think you’ll be able to handle all these people at once?
13. I didn’t expect everyone to come at once!

CAR ACCIDENT JOKE
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident.

It’s a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt.

After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, “So you’re a man,that’s interesting. I’m a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There nothing left but fortunately we are unhurt.

This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days.”

The man replied,” I agree with you completely. This must be a sign from God!

The woman continued, “And look at this, here’s another miracle. My car is completely demolished, but this bottle of wine didn’t break! Sure God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune.”

The she hands the bottle to the man. The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle, and then hands it back to the woman.

The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man.

The man asks “Aren’t you having any?”

The woman replies, “No. I think I’ll just wait for the police.”

What is it about the Holidays?

What makes us feel like we do?

Some of us are excited and happy,

Some of us are just blue!

Maybe we think too much.

Maybe we should just let them be.

Just step back and watch.

They can be pretty funny!

Someone will do something stupid,

Someone else will smile at you,

Someone will be in a bad mood,

Someone will be crazy and fun,

Just like you!

So I guess what I am saying,

Is to just let it be.

Try to see the good,

and ignore the ugly!
