Let the celebrations begin……Happy Thanksgiving*

It is that wonderful time of the year again. The time I reflect and think about all of the things I am grateful for in this life. I tend to have these moments all year long, but it seems like they mean more at Thanksgiving. I am one of those people that like to go around the dinner table and have everyone share with each other. My family and friends expect these moments, new guests to my home just give me that look. lol I just ask everyone to share one event in their life in 2012 that really made them grateful to be who they may be. I treasure each day I am given, so I would hope others could say the same.

This year my COURAGE to keep moving ahead was tested often. I have had some MINOR health issues that I let get to me this year. Usually I just ignore them. I have had my mom undergoing various little medical treatments that made me think too much about her aging. We all age, right? I have been blessed with my son who moved to Texas moving back home. I needed the courage to get him home safe. He is now already working at another job and is doing well.I have had to balance negative feelings with more positive feelings when I was in the position of helping some friends or family members in a crisis situation. I wanted to remain strong so I could help them succeed. If you look up my name and its definition….it does seem to fit.

Luisa is a female name of German origin  which means “glorious warrior”.

So, I hope all of you reading this post have something to be grateful for. May you all enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and friends with many smiles. May you have many cherished memories. I want to leave you all with this beautiful passage I found.

The Giver of Gifts

May the Giver of Gifts give unto you

that which is good and that which is true:

The will to help and the courage to do:

A heart that can sing the whole day through

Whether the skies be gray or blue-

May the Giver of Gifts give these to you.

I’m all smiles*

Texas son will be visiting. I can not wait to see him. It has been since February! It seems like forever. He will be busy catching up on news here in crazy California. I will be out for a bit. Stay smiling. Have fun. Enjoy family time. It goes by too quickly. My son was just a baby, and now he is a man. WOW OK, gotta run. Stay well and happy. Be safe. Enjoy the world around you. I sure appreciate it.

Back from Texas……..

Well, I have returned. I have mixed feelings about Texas. The people there are ALL really nice. They are very helpful and polite. They really seem to care about what you are asking about. I was impressed. They are not all walking around with cowboy hats and boots on. They look just like everyone else anywhere in the states. I was kind of wanting to see some cowboys. Oh well. 😦

Now the highways are another story. I was going crazy, and so was our GPS. I think it is easier to drive around LA! There is so much open road in Texas. I guess I am just set with the way around town here. I would get around Texas, after a while. Costco from my sons house is about 40 minutes away. I would go crazy with that! I would have to be close to all the stores I am familiar with. I guess I am getting old!:(

My son seems very happy. He got his place all set up. It looks pretty good for a studio apartment. He takes about 200 steps, and he is at work. No traffic. No excuse for being late. No stress from long commutes. He is fitting in nicely. I am very happy to have had the chance to go see where he is. His complex is very nice and all of the managers are friendly. They bake fresh cookies EVERY morning! They gave a wonderful coffee machine. I went there EVERY morning because my son does not do coffee. 😦

I am glad to be back in CA and crazy LA. I love this place. I did miss it a lot. When I landed at LAX, I smiled big time.

Hope you are all well. I will be by as soon as I catch up.

Leaving for Texas…….

Off to Texas I will be…
To see where my son has chosen to live.
I imagine he will have a smile on his face…
I imagine he will be happy to get going with his life.

I do plan on taking a lot of photos.
I will be happy to share them with you all.
I hope to get him all settled in,
so when I can’t sleep at night I will at least
have a visual. 🙂

Oh, my computer wiz son number 2 installed Skype for me.
I just have to figure it out!
Who knows, maybe I will talk to you all also.
That would be strange, huh?

Well, I must get ready for my trip.
I do not have a laptop, so unless I use my sons computer..I
will see you all when I get back.

Keep a smile on that face.
Stay positive…no negative, OK?

Oh, I plan on getting me a Texas hat!

And the beat goes on….

Well folks, TEXAS wins. I am happy we have a decision. Now we can go full speed ahead with moving plans. I will be driving out with my son, and hubby will come when he can get away from work. It is nice that he is self employed, huh? I hope he can help with our searches for furniture, apartments, and all of that fun stuff. The area of Texas my son will be moving to is nice. My mom is already wanting to go on a plane trip to visit. This is someone who NEVER wants to fly anywhere! Now, she is packing her bags. lol I can get to my son in 2 hours by plane, and one and a halk days of driving. I have a lot of friends who want to go for a visit once my son is settled in. He is just rolling his eyes at that! lol Does he really think he can get rid of me? lol I am a lot happier now. My blogging friend Joy gave me some great advice about emplty nest syndrome. She told me to talk..talk…talk about things. Well, I am talking and I am blogging. Thanks for listening.
