Life is Short”

“They say it takes a minute

to find a special person.

An hour to appreciate them.

A day to love them,

but then an entire life

to forget them.”

This statement I found got me thinking about my friends and family. I recently lost my brother suddenly. We really do not know what the next day holds, so we should appreciate all that we have everyday. Getting upset over something that isn’t worth having a heart attack over is something we should learn to control. We should see each day as a challenge that will have positibe results. We should embrace life and enjoy every moment of it. I agree, life is short. That is why I try to do what I can when I can and not dwell on what I haven’t done yet . It gets you nowhere!

Believe in Yourself

Well, it seems like I am gravitating these days to my blog that I have been away from on a regular basis. It seems like I want to express myself these days. When I get thoughts into my head that take over what I am trying to do at that moment, I just say “What the *ell,” i am going to blog. Now, I do not know how long this is going to go on…so, please bear with me. 🙂 Some of my blogging friends are so good about blogging EVERY DAY! I remember when I first started, I would stay up most of the night blogging and posting!! Blogging has helped me with my mental health. When my mental health is stronger, my physical health follows on a much better path. So, those of you who stop by and do not have a blog….start one! Those of you who are so kind and generous with your time to visit my blog often….thank you. May you all find in your life what you need to make each day go by a bit easier. I always SMILE. No matter what, I reflect on all of my blessings and a smile magically appears.

Rest in Peace Mom

It is my belief that my mom is resting in peace now. She was lucky enough to live out her life the way she felt like. She overcame many struggles. She enjoyed many moments of happiness. She always did her best to make all of those around her happy. Since she is of Italian decent, she just loved to feed people! If you did not eat what she made, she would say, “What’s wrong with the food, eat!” LOL After a while, we all just surrendered and ate. LOL She worked until she was 81 years old as a food demo person at Costco Wholesale. She loved feeding all of the customers, especially the kids. LOL She took ill a few years ago. She managed to do her best. She passed quietly in her sleep at 85 years old. We should all be so lucky, huh?

We made an EVERIPEDIA page for my mom. You can do one for any of your loved ones that have passed. I was touched when the team did this.

Any prayers for my mom DELIA, would be appreciated.

The Secret Diary of a Cat
DAY 752 – My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding on the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting.

DAY 761 – Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair… must try this on their bed (again).

DAY 762 – Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night.

DAY 765 – Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in
attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was …Hmmm. Not working according to plan…

DAY 768 – I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called “shampoo.” What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws.

DAY 771 – There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of “allergies.” Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

DAY 774 – I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured.

But I can wait; it is only a matter of time….

Believe in Yourself!

I am getting so tired of seeing the majority of society walking around all over the place like they are in auto-pilot. Do they realize that they are not even noticed? Do they realize that most people do not even care about what is going on with them? Do they understand that one day, maybe sooner than they suspect, their gig is up? Well, I do not believe so.
I believe a lot of people are just doing what they think they are expected to be doing. You’re a baby doing all the cool baby stuff, you become a toddler and start noticing that everyone is not going goo -goo all over you anymore, then you become a TEENAGER…lookout, and finally an adult. During all those phases in your life, you start to realize that the whole world does not focus solely on you. You begin to develop survival mechanisms that help you stay sane….if you are lucky! I believe, somewhere along the way, we lose our SENSE OF HUMOR and our INDIVIDUALITY.
So, I guess what I am getting at is….DO NOT LOSE YOURSELF.
Don’t be afraid to sing in public or start dancing, when you hear a song you love. Do not be afraid to state your opinion , it counts. Do not be afraid to speak up when you notice something that is not right. Do not be afraid to EXPRESS YOURSELF. I love to express myself through dance. I am not a great dancer, but I ain’t too bad!!! I just love being “different.”
I like to write down, every so often, what I like about myself and what I think I should try to improve on. ( Of course, I never have any in that column.) It helps me stay focused on handling everyday stuff in my life. It is just one of the things that works for me. Try it , if you want.
