Welcome to American Girl Place Los Angeles……The Grove

Located in The Grove, one of California’s premier shopping destinations, our Los Angeles store features girls’ favorite shops, private dining, and so much more.”

Well, I went here this weekend. Let me tell you, it IS the place to be if you have girls. I had never been to this store before. I was quite shocked. It was a bit disturbing for me. The place is loaded with dolls. They all have names. They all have a book that comes with them and tells you all about them. They come from all walks of life. They all have different outfits to compliment their era. They are loaded down with all kinds of furniture for THEM. Their items cost more than those I would use!!! They have bath tubs, strollers, desks, horses, guitars, bedroom sets, tea sets, kitchen appliances, makeup centers, you name it…they carry it. I wish I were the owner of this store!!! How do they make the money to cover the rent? We figure it cost them about $150,000 a month for the rent!!! I can only imagine the profit this place makes. The dolls cost about $5.00 to make, but they sell them for over $100.00 each.!! My friends daughter has 5. All of her school mates have about the same, or more! Wow, crazy huh?

We had a very nice dinner there. They gave each table a birthday cake and extra treats for the birthday girl. It cost my friend $35.00 each for the kids and $24.00 each for the adults. I think my friend spent quite a bit this year for her daughter’s birthday! We all had fun. We all got to spend time together. My friend is not ever going to do this again, so once is fine. We had a lot of smiles from the girls. That made it all worth it.

Afterwards we walked around The Grove. It is a real happening place. Lots of places to eat. Lots of activity in the streets. Lots of great shopping. Lots of coffee places. They are also near the Farmer’s Market. I was exhausted when I got home, but I was very glad I went. It was very nice of my friend to include us in the celebration.

If you are ever in LA, be sure to visit The Grove.

Named after the Roman goddess Juno. Juno was the Roman goddess for love and marriage, and that is why so many weddings traditionally take place in June. June is the sixth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar. Julius Ceasar named this month in 46 B.C.
Father’s Day is celebrated in the United States on the third Sunday in June.
Gems for June are the pearl, alexandrite, and moonstone.
The rose is the flower for the month of June.
~~~~~
Then let us, one and all, be contented with our lot;
The June is here this morning, and the sun is shining hot;
Oh! let us fill our hearts up with the glory of the day,
And banish ev’ry doubt and care and sorrow far away.
One sided news media??????
I am constantly hearing people complain about the news media. I personally think that our journalists could use some work, but who am I? The people I hear complaining keep saying that if a Republican does anything stupid they immediately put it on the news and make it top priority. On the other hand, if a Democrat does something…like what is going on now…it is kind of made light of. I think if you are going to take on the role of a ” News Reporter” you should be just that. You should not think your title is a “Personal Crusader for the world.”  Just sticking to the facts when it applies to EVERYONE is the way to go. Being selective is going back in time. We need to be more dignified….not more STUPID!!!
And no…I am not just saying this because you think I am a Republican…I personally chose my candidate on their qualifications NOT their political party!!!
