Movie Review…..Slumdog Millionaire*

Like many of you out there, I was thinking “What is the big deal about this movie?” Well, it is a movie that lives up to its awards! It was a movie where the good guy wins. It depicts the horrible life of a small boy growing up in the care of his older brother because their mother is killed. It shows us the bond between brothers and how it can never be broken, no matter how terrible things may get. It shows how a love for a woman that is meant to be their destiny, endures…no matter what! It shows how to survive. It is a very well written script that is played out nicely by all the actors and actresses. You can actually feel their emotions. All of these memories are put into play because it is suspected that the contestant in the millionaire game is cheating. He explains how it is he knows the answers to the questions he is asked. A movie worth seeing, for sure!

Movie Review……….Behind Enemy Lines

Lots of action. Lots of combat scenes. Lots of bonding with your fellow Seals team. Lots of clever moves. Lots of political statements. Lots of personal loss. Lots of personal sorrow. Just lots of entertaining aspects of film making. The territory they covered was educational. The culture of the people they were dealing with was educational, as well. It was a movie that kept my interest, which I can not say about a lot of movies I have seen! I think it is worth watching.Oh, did I mention…the guys are really cute!

Movie Review….Saw 5…..!!!

Yuk! Blood everywhere! Body parts flying all over the place! No sense! Ridiculous lines! Stupid facial expressions! Dumb ening! Dumb story line! Am I giving you the impression that I thought this movie was your typical, horro film? That is what it be! Get it if that is what you like! Otherwise, go to the next movie!

Movie Review………….Pineapple Express-)*

Well, let me tell you this, it was quite the experience. It is basically a movie where male bonding is portrayed in “other than customary ways.” There is a lot of pot smoking and a lot of personal experiences with pot! It seems to be the whole theme of the movie… of yeh…..other than the male bonding part! The acting is done with enthusiasm and seriousness. The characters are all pretty strange, which makes it amusing. I have to be honest ,though. I kept looking at the clock! Just take it for what it is, and you will not be disappointed.

I guess we all have to figure that our life changes on a daily basis. One day we are really strongly opinionated about issues and then we somehow change those opinions as we ” mature.” Who invented maturity, anyways? I wish we could just stay put! It would be really nice to just pick an age you really had fun in and just stay there for as long as you decided. I think someone ought to invent a machine that can do this. Every morning, depending on our mood, we can decide where we want to be. When we get tired being there, we just get our little machine and reprogram it and we are off! Doesn’t this sound GREAT?   Ok, let’s start working on it! Any ideas?

This would also be a great plot for a movie. Any writers out there? Let’s do it!

Movie Review…”Felon”

This movie was an eye opener. This poor guy who was protecting his family from the evils of the world gets screwed by the laws of the land! He ends up in a prison where no rules apply except the rules of the inmates. The warden guy is evil and twisted, the guards are indifferent, and the whole place is running itself into destruction. Val Kilmer was actually good in this movie. He got into his role. He shows a human side in his character. It is all about “Family.” It shows how far a person will go to protect their family. It also shows what a person will do if they believe they have lost their family. As wierd as it may be, this movie was about family, unity, friendship, and trust. That is what I got from it. It is worth watching. It makes you think about yourself and what you would do under the same circumstances.

Movie Review..”Never Back Down”

Normally I do not rent movies that have boxing as a theme, but this one had that plus a little more. It was a movie that showed the lives of a family unit of mom,adult son, and young son having to deal with issues since the father’s death. It showed how the older son dealt with his inner anger issues and his emotions that he was unwilling to show others. This actor could be a Tom Cruise look a like! The movie also has a lot of fighting action and suspense. It will keep you interested. So, I guess watch it if you have the time to spare. It was ok.

“DOOMSDAY…….unrated”

I was bored so I rented another movie. Yes, I know I watch a lot of movies! “Doomsday” was supposed to be a suspense/horror film. I thought it was more like a comedy. Let me explain.
Of course, by the title you can figure things are not going so good on planet Earth. In this case, specifically Britain. A virus breaks out that of course, has no known cure. The city becomes semi-normal after years, but the virus breaks out again. So, they send this chick out to the other side of the wall to go look for the Dr., who they think may have the cure.
Along the journey this chick leads a team of soldiers on, all kinds of wacko stuff happen. Heads go flying, arms go swinging, and body parts are considered a delicacy. There is a pretty cool dude who leads the evil side. He puts on quite a stage show for us. His girlfriend is a real#*#*#! I am glad what goes down for her happens.
Anyway, if you want to see some pretty crazy, off the wall stuff….rent this movie. I kind of liked it. It made me laugh!

“The Secret”

I just got finished watching my second movie for the night. This one was called “The Secret.” I was wondering why I had never heard of this movie, now after watching it, I understand. DUMB! If you like a movie where a 16 year old daughter and her mom can not stand each other, watch it. If you want to see the mother and daughter get in a car accident because they are fighting, watch it. If you want to see them in a hospital room where they both go into cardiac arrest and the mother dies…but before she dies,she somehow goes into the daughter’s body, watch this movie. If you want to see how a mom,in a daughter’s body. deals with life after her funeral…watch this movie.
