Just talking…..

I am just being lazy today. I am exhausted from all of the activities of Thanksgiving. I was not even going to attempt shopping today. Did you?

I am just going to wait this year with gift buying. I have a few ideas, but I am not ready to take the leap. There are so many stores out there with deals, I am sure I will have no problem if I wait. What are you planning to do about shopping for gifts?

I really like to get into the spirit of this time of year. To me, it is a magical time. I wish it stayed the same way all year long, don’t you?

I am blessed to be in good health. I am blessed to have my family at home. I am blessed in many ways that I do not take for granted. Do you feel you need more blessings or do you have enough?

I will be stopping in every now and then. I am sure I will smile when I visit your blogs. Have fun with blogging. Have fun with life. It is meant to be lived.

Memories in the sun*

How did I ever miss it?

How could it be ignored?

Loud and inviting at the same time.

Offering many silly or quiet moments.

Take a look.

Embrace the madness.

Sometimes angry and making a point.

Other times timid and wanting your challenges.

The beach is all around you, if you live near by.

Do you take it for granted each day you drive by it?

Do you just assume that it will always be there for you?

Why not take some time to introduce yourself.

You will be amazed at all the smiles.

You will welcome the waves.

You will feel the coldness of the ocean on you.

What fun.

What a miracle.

It all awaits you.

Why do you hesitate?

Happy Mother’s Day 2012*

May you cherish the memories you have of your mother

Close to your heart and soul

May you have experienced the love

That only a devoted mother can show

May you have had many hours of laughter

Many hours of joy

May you appreciate the beauty

That only a mother can show

May you be given the honor

In raising children of your own

May you accept the privilege

Of feeling the true embrace of love

Unconditional love from children

Should not be taken lightly

Show respect for the young ones

They will show you some in return

May you be blessed with a magical Mother’s Day.

Happy Everything to You All…….

Reflections of a beautiful life
Able to breathe the atmospheric aroma of surrender
Expressing the power of positive forces
Deflecting all of the others sent my way

Embrace the good in this world
Open your eyes and heart to the other side
Make that field weaken and grow small
With the power of your talents and abilities

Believe that you have the strength
Believe that you can make a difference
Believe it does not always have to be the way it is now

Have fun celebrating whatever you like to do…be sure to smile. I have got to get my act together and start shopping. See you around.

Let it Snow…

Let it Snow...

I can only imagine how you felt…
On those nights when the horror around you was crushing.
Your soul and your determination at battle with one another.

Your courage and your beliefs were your only comfort…
One you did not really want to share…
But one that was necessary for survival.

I want to thank you for those moments.
I want to honor you with all of my deepest respects.

May you know that I DO appreciate you and what you have done to make my life possible today.

Do You Know the Symbols of Christmas?………….for Children, Young & Old!

The Legend of the First Christmas Tree

The night of the Saviour’s birth, all the living creatures, both flora and fauna, came to Bethlehem with gifts. The olive tree brought its fruit and the palm its dates. But the little fir tree had no gift and was so tired it couldn’t resist when the big trees pushed it into the background and hid it from view. But then a nearby angel took pity and commanded a cluster of stars to come and rest on its delicate boughs. When the Baby Jesus beheld this lovely lighted tree, He smiled and blessed it, declaring henceforth that fir trees should always be filled with lights at Christmastime to please little children.

The true meaning of Christmas…

* The Star: A heavenly signs of prophecy fulfilled long, long ago- The shining hope of mankind. * The Color Red: The first color of Christmas, symbolizing that Savior’s sacrifice for all. * The Fir Tree: Evergreen- the second color of Christmas shows everlasting light and life. The needles point up to heaven. * The Bell: Rings out to guide lost sheep back to the fold, signifying that all are precious in His eyes. * The Candle: A mirror of starlight, reflecting our thanks for the star of Bethlehem. * The Gift Bow: Tied as we should all be tied together in bonds of goodwill forever. * The Candy Cane: Represents the shape of the shepherd’s crook, used to bring lost lambs back to the fold. * The Wreath: A symbol of the never ending eternal value of love‚Ķhaving no end. Gift Giving in 2008…Make it fun….Make it easy……

How do snowmen get around?
On their icicles.

Christmas: The time when everyone gets Santamental.

This is bad. I am already starting to worry about what to do for Christmas. I get the paper daily and all I am seeing are SALES everywhere. It is so hard to NOT go buy something! This year is going to be different for a lot of people, including me. I am going to make a list and set myself a budget. I am going to buy stuff this year that is fun, put practical. I always figured that any gift you give to someone should be something you wouldn’t mind getting. In other words, don’t buy something that you think is worthless! If you don’t want it for yourself, DON’T buy it for someone else! For those of you who are talented, you still have time to MAKE things for people. I love to bake different kinds of cookies and then buy a platter for them and give them to neighbors as gifts. They love it and it is inexpensive to do. The local 99 cent stores ALWAYS have cute things too. I love that store! So, this year, have fun buying those gifts and don’t go overboard with the spending. You really have lots of other options. Be creative. Be resourceful. Be smart.
