PEP TALK 10/6/15

Spent the day around sick people at a hospital with my mom. She just needed a test done. I talked with many in the waiting room. Lots of sadness but also a lot of courage! I was so touched today. So, I want to consider today a lesson for me in COURAGE. NEVER give up a fight you are determined is worth fighting! 🙂

Movie Review of ” STUCK”…..

I do not even know why I rented this movie, I guess I figure it sounded ok. Well, it was different, that’s for sure. It shows us how someone in life may resort to things they never imagined just to survive. It shows how a girl who is trying hard at work to succeed, makes a fatal mistake and turns her life into an unnecessary whirlwind because she did not make the the RIGHT choice. It shows how a man, who is at one time in his life living “high on the hog” loses everything even faster than it took him to gain it! He is in the process of coming to terms with his new situation, when this girl runs him over. He is stuck in her windshield, bleeding all over, and she does NOTHING about it to help him. You’re not going to believe what she does. She drives him to her house and parks her damaged car, with him still attached to the windshield, in the garage! I will not tell you what happens. There is some weird stuff going on with the characters in this movie. If you like strange situations and you like seeing people at ” their best,” you want to see this movie. I just hope that it never happens to me!

Mental Health and Laughter….

I would have been committed several times already to a psych ward if it weren’t for my sense of humor! I encounter stupidity all day long and have to really resist the urge in just ” letting it go!” All of us have hopefully set up some coping skills to help us get past the ” craziness” of this planet! Good mental health involves courage, determination, and will power! It involves saying to yourself, ” I believe in myself and what I can do. I will survive! I will succeed!” It is also my strong opinion that you need to see the humor in the situation you’re in. That is why I just take a step back before I respond. I stop and think about something funny, smile, and then ATTACK nicely! It can be done! You can make a point just as strongly being nice about it! Try it out and let me know if it works for you!

Movie Review..”Never Back Down”

Normally I do not rent movies that have boxing as a theme, but this one had that plus a little more. It was a movie that showed the lives of a family unit of mom, adult son, and young son having to deal with issues since the father’s death. It showed how the older son dealt with his inner anger issues and his emotions that he was unwilling to show others. This actor could be a Tom Cruise look a like! The movie also has a lot of fighting action and suspense. It will keep you interested. So, I guess watch it if you have the time to spare. It was ok.
