Birthday Fun……

Yes, that is me. My friends Fran and Jennifer surprised me with this outfit. Too cool. I kept it on at the restaurant and had no problem showing it off to the others. lol I had such a great time.We spent the whole time laughing and sharing stories. We had such delicious meals. Afterwards, we went shopping! Yes, we bought shoes! lol I just love my friends. I love the greatest gift of all…the gift of time. So precious. So wonderful. Hope you all have a great time this weekend. My hubby and I are going on a quick trip. Stay well and happy.

Allergic reaction to medication…OUCH

I am getting over an allergic reaction to a medication I was put on for a possible urinary tract infection, which I ended up not having. When I pick up my medicine, I always ask what a reaction might be. Do you? If you don’t, I suggest you start. If you do, hat’s off to you.

I got a rash. I was so tired I could not keep my eyes open. My eyes were so swollen!  I had trouble walking from my car to my front door. I was very dizzy. I just did not feel like myself.

I went to urgent care and was taken off the medicine right away. I had to wait for it to work its way out of my bloodstream. All of this started because my blood work showed my nitrites and leukocyte were positive. I since found out that sometimes they are and it is fine. I am being referred to a specialist, to be on the safe side.

Have any of you had reactions? If you want to share..go right ahead please.

I have returned……..

Howdy all! I reckon you all are doing well? I’m just plum excited to be back home. I had a good ole time in Texas! Mighty hot. Humid as hell. Otherwise, I declare I had me a good time.

I am going to be around a little bit more now. I hope to come visit you soon. I had a great visit with my son. He does work a lot, so I spent a lot of time at the pool. I guess you can say that I got a pretty good tan now. I also spent time in the gym where he lives. I drank loads of water. I thought California was hot. Wrong!

I got to go to a real rodeo and see some bull fighting and fantastic horse riding. I also went to downtown Dallas. I saw the spot where President Kennedy was shot. I also got to go visit some cool museums.

I know I will be going back to see my son. He plans on staying there awhile. I think I will go when it is cooler there! lol

Now, I am back to reality. I do have to go to the mountains this weekend to clear brush. Other than that, I am just taking it one day at a time. Tomorrow I have a physical exam, so wish me luck.

Secrets to losing WEIGHT fast*

What would the answer to that be? I need to hear about some NEW amazing way to lose weight fast. I am tired of losing it the slow way or NO WAY. lol I do understand that if you take weight off slowly, it tends to stay off longer. I do not believe in FAD diets. I believe in eating the right foods.


Please explain!!!

Faria State Beach…nice*

I just got back from a wonderful weekend trip. Faria State beach is just beautiful. We camped right near the waves. We could climb the rocks and jump right in! We were right next door to Rincon, where you can park your RV right on the road next to the beach! Emma Woods State Beach was also close by, all within biking distance. We got to see beautiful sunsets. We saw a whale, a shark, sea lions, seagulls, and all kinds of little critters running around. I was always entertained. The people we camped next to were very nice. We all got a chance to tell some crazy stories. lol One night a good friend and her husband came for a visit. We had Cinco de Mayo fun! I made so many new friends, I love it. There is like a community when you go camping. We all shared all of our stuff with one another. I got to eat some pretty amazing food. I hope you like the photos. I did have my camera ready. My binoculars were used a lot also! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Have a week full of many smiles.

** If any of my new friends are visiting….Very nice to have spent some time with you all.

This SONG gets me moving at the gym..check out this VIDEO from 1979!

I find it hard to believe that this video is from 1979. I mean, check out the clothes. Look at those shades! The guitar playing is awesome. They do not make music like this anymore, in my opinion. I really think that this song ROCKS. The lyrics are strange, but they seem to work. What is your opinion?

Boy..did it snow!

All I can say is, I sure am lucky my hubby grew up in snow storms in Jersey! The snow just would not stop. It was so beautiful when we were in the cabin having drinks near the fireplace. It was kind of pretty when we could see where we were driving on the way home. It was nasty when we had low visibility. I was having all kinds of panic attacks! My hubby just gave me that look! I guess being married to me over 25 years has made him that way! lol We managed to have a VERY relaxing time. We watched movies, ate delicious food, took walks in the snow, had lots of tea and coffee, and managed to say hi to a few of the neighbors before it was too hard to walk in the snow. My hubby got the snow blower working in the morning and it was not snowing at the time. Right after we loaded up the car and secured the house, it hit us big time. We just looked at each other and drove ahead. I do admit I did a lot of praying until we hit flat land. lol I LOVED the trip. Who knows when we go again. Hopefully soon.

The Command of Sir Health…….

Sir Health is a constant invader into my life.

His wife, Madam Scale is a real pain in the ass as well.

Sir Health seems to think I should not be consuming certain foods.

Madam Scale always seems to agree with him.

Sir Health feels that I do not get enough fruit.

Madam Scale proves to me every morning that he is right again.

Sir Health seems to feel I should eat more lean meats and veggies.

Madam Scale, once again has to show me he is right!

Sir Health wants me to say bye bye to lots of sugar.

Madam Scale goes off the charts on that one!

So, I am kind of listening. I have been changing what I throw in my mouth every day. I do seem to be leaning more towards the food items that are better for my system. I have to admit I have more energy. I have been going to workout at the gym. That is one of the reasons you have not seen me lately. I do feel better drinking Almond milk. I usually have a glass before bed. It is soothing for me. I love eating my greek yogurt with my gluten free waffle every morning I can. I top it off with fresh blueberries. I have been hooked on spinach salads. I have developed a taste for feta cheese, supposedly good for my blood type. I have been eating bread, but not as much. I also love protein, so I have some in between meals. I guess I am getting into this whole scene. Sorry if I bore you all with this rambling. I guess I am going now. American Idol is on tonight? Do you watch?

Eat Right for Your Blood Type…….”Why not?”, says ME*

I was very fascinated with this book when I found it in the bookstore yesterday. My friend’s husband told me all about it. I was a bit skeptical, but so far I like what I see. It all makes sense to me.

You need to figure out what your blood type is. I asked my Dr. if it was in my file. Well, it is, I am going to go see what blood type I am by going to take a simple blood test. I can not start my new way of eating until I do so!

Basically. once you find your blood type, you can start educating yourself to many different things about you. The book breaks down each blood type with foods best for you, foods you should avoid, and foods that are neutral. If you are wanting to lose weight, it points out to you what you need to do. If you exercise, it will tell you the most effective type of workout for your system. It will tell you the best things to drink. for your system. It shows you why you may be having a problem losing weight. It is actually very interesting to me.

So, I will be starting this new way of eating asap. I hope to get in better physical shape. I hope to keep my system free of any medications. I hope to get down to a weight that is easier for me to handle…about 10-15 pounds should help!

I will keep you all posted about things that I find to be very impressive.
