A Day in Ventura at the beach……..

<

Like my new shades? Looking good or should I trade them in? lol I had a relaxing day at the beach in Ventura. I walked up and down Main Street. Lots of shops ranging from thrift stores, antiques, and crazy gadgets. There sure were a lot of surfers out! I love watching them hit the waves. I got to eat at a delicious Irish Pub. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting.I also took a look at the Ventura Mission. There you can find some samples of the way of life back in the day. I loved it!I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time in Ventura this summer. I also love going to their RV parks. I guess I had better get in shape! I have starting walking every day now for a minimum of 20-30 minutes. I also do some yoga and light weights. I do not belong to a gym. I find it more relaxing to do it in the comfort of my home. Hope you are all planning on having a nice week. I need you all to send some prayers out to my mom. She is having a heart angiogram on Tuesday. Thank you for your support.

Let the celebrations begin……Happy Thanksgiving*

It is that wonderful time of the year again. The time I reflect and think about all of the things I am grateful for in this life. I tend to have these moments all year long, but it seems like they mean more at Thanksgiving. I am one of those people that like to go around the dinner table and have everyone share with each other. My family and friends expect these moments, new guests to my home just give me that look. lol I just ask everyone to share one event in their life in 2012 that really made them grateful to be who they may be. I treasure each day I am given, so I would hope others could say the same.

This year my COURAGE to keep moving ahead was tested often. I have had some MINOR health issues that I let get to me this year. Usually I just ignore them. I have had my mom undergoing various little medical treatments that made me think too much about her aging. We all age, right? I have been blessed with my son who moved to Texas moving back home. I needed the courage to get him home safe. He is now already working at another job and is doing well.I have had to balance negative feelings with more positive feelings when I was in the position of helping some friends or family members in a crisis situation. I wanted to remain strong so I could help them succeed. If you look up my name and its definition….it does seem to fit.

So, I hope all of you reading this post have something to be grateful for. May you all enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and friends with many smiles. May you have many cherished memories. I want to leave you all with this beautiful passage I found.

The Giver of Gifts

May the Giver of Gifts give unto you

that which is good and that which is true:

The will to help and the courage to do:

A heart that can sing the whole day through

Whether the skies be gray or blue-

May the Giver of Gifts give these to you.

Hello Friends. Hope You’re Feeling Good!….cute image*

An elderly couple were killed in an accident and found themselves being given a tour of heaven by Saint Peter. “Here is your oceanside condo, over there are the tennis courts, swimming pool, and two golf courses. If you need any refreshments, just stop by any of the many bars located throughout the area.””Heck, Gloria,” the old man hissed when Saint Peter walked off, “we could have been here ten years ago if you hadn’t heard about all that stupid oat bran, wheat germ, and low-fat diets!”

A family of three tomatoes were walking downtown one day when the little baby tomato started lagging behind. The big father tomato walks back to the baby tomato, stomps on her, squashing her into a red paste, and says, “Ketchup!”

A friend and I were standing in line at a fast-food restaurant, waiting to place our order.

There was a big sign posted. “No bills larger than $20 will be accepted.”

The woman in front of us, pointing to the sign, remarked, “Believe me, if I HAD a bill larger than $20, I wouldn’t be eating here.”

Have fun~

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A “BIG BAD JOHN” WHERE YOU WORKED?

MY LEMON TREE*

JUST A SQUEEZE OF LEMON

At a cocktail party, a man gets totally plastered, goes up to the host and says, “Excuse me, but do lemons have feathers?” in a slurred voice.

“I beg your pardon?” says the host.

The drunk asks again: “Do lemons have feathers?” as he struggles to hold his balance.

A rather bemused host says, “No, I don’t think so.”

The drunk looks sheepish then says: “Oopsie.”

“What?” asks the host.

And the drunk: “I think I’ve just squeezed your canary into my drink.”

My birds did not think this joke was funny. lol

THE GARDEN GROWS…LAUGH WITH DORAZ*

A woman’s garden is growing beautifully but the darn tomatos won’t ripen. There’s a limit to the number of uses for green tomatos and she’s getting tired of it. So she goes to her neighbor and says, “Your tomatos are ripe, mine are green. What can I do about it?” Her neighbor replies, “Well, it may sound absurd but here’s what to do. Tonight there’s no moon. After dark go out into your garden and take all your clothes off. Tomatos can see in the dark and they’ll be embarrassed and blush. In the morning they’ll all be red, you’ll see.” Well, what the heck? She does it. Next day her neighbor asks how it worked. “So-so,” she answers. “The tomatos are still green but the cucumbers are all four inches longer.”

HOW IS YOUR DAY GOING?

Git ‘Er Done…LAUGH with DORAZ*

A man and his wife, moved back home to West Virginia, from Ohio. The husband had a wooden leg, and to insure it back in Ohio cost them $2000 per year!

When they arrived in West Virginia, they went to an insurance agency to see how much it would cost to insure his wooden leg.

The agent looked it up on the computer and said: ‘$39.’

The husband was shocked and asked why it was so cheap here in West Virginia to insure it because it cost him $2000 in Ohio!

The insurance agent turned his computer screen to the couple and said, ‘Well, here it is on the screen, it says:
Any wooden structure, with a sprinkler system above
it, is $39… You just have to know how to describe it!

Girl power…..LAUGH with DORAZ*

Four friends spend weeks planning the perfect girls getaway trip – shopping, massages, facials.

Two days before the group is to leave Mary’s husband puts his foot down and tells her she isn’t going.

Mary’s friends are very upset that she can’t go, but what can they do.

Two days later the three get to the hotel only to find Mary sitting in the bar drinking a glass of wine.

“Wow, how long you been here and how did you talk your husband into letting you go?”

“Well, I’ve been here since last night. Yesterday evening I was sitting on the couch and my husband came up behind me and put his hands over my eyes and said ‘Guess who’?”

I pulled his hands off to find all he was wearing was his birthday suit. He took my hand and lead me to our bedroom. The room was scented with perfume, had two dozen candles and rose petals all over. On the bed, he had handcuffs and ropes! He told me to tie and cuff him to the bed, so I did. And then he said, “Now, you can do whatever you want.”

So here I am.
