We create our own misery and unhappiness. The purpose of suffering is to make us understand we are the ones who cause it.
Willie Nelson
What do you think about that???

Strange…I was working on a poem today about this topic…from a somewhat different perspective…but a similar theme..the difficulty I see with the last part of the question (“.. The purpose of suffering..”) is that it suggest that all things happen for a reason…which I have a hard time accepting…oh just a random Monday thought. 🙂 Have a great week!
I like the way you express your thoughts. We all make choices in life. Some of our choices can cause us pain and misery inside. Some can have us feeling great! I do believe we need to learn from ALL experiences in life. We need to LISTEN to our inner self. 😎 Just my thought for the day. lol
If you analyse any of your suffering you will find your contribution in it to be above 60% –This has been my experience —
A quote for you
We were promised sufferings-They were part of the programme -We were even told ” Blessed are they that mourn” –C S Lewis
Wow, what a quote. I do believe that when I suffer, I learn. 😎
One thing I like about these old songs is that there is no tiresome long interludes between stanzas / verses —
You either like Willie or rather not! lol I like the songs that move along also Lviss. 😎
I think he is right…heaven on earth or hell on earth we create it by the choices we make in life. The outward world is merely a reflection of the inner world……
Wow, you have a keen insight. Hope all is well. 😎
