  1. I used to wish I had a “grown up” name. I wasn’t sure what, just that it wouldn’t end in a long “e” sound. I’ve changed my mind though – I like it that there are not many females around my age with my name. πŸ™‚

  7. Ooh, I like this post and have something to share with you. This happened a long time ago right after WW2. My dad was in his early 20’s at that time and he was a part-time worker at the US military base in the Philippines. A sailor asked him what’s his name, he said, “Porfirio.” The sailor thought for a second and he asked again, “Can I just call you Bill, I just can not pronounce your name.” My dad was okay with that and he became Bill since then.

    As for my name, I’m quite happy with it. My mom used to call me with my full name when she was upset. πŸ˜€
