You Have the Power….*

My friend, ERIC at Soupalaxy is on a mission, just like I am. We are both motivated to exercise and lose some weight. If you go to Eric’s blog, you can see how he is motivating himself to get in shape before his baby is born! It is pretty clever. Now, I am also trying to lose the last ten pounds I have been trying to lose…for the last ten years! I am on a 6 week exercise program, Monday thru Thursday….with weight training and cardio. So far, it has only been 2 days…but, I have taken off the 4 pounds I since gained! I have increased my water intake and I have cut back on eating bread and sweets. I try to eat more protein and enjoy lots of yogurts, cottage cheese, or pineapple salsa. I am staying away from fast foods, unless I have to….and I am eating what I want, but less. I have been on a life changing path when it comes to my diet and exercise, for the last 20+ years. I believe it has to be a combination of diet and exercise. I also believe you need to have a healthy mental outlook on life, which I do! So, Eric and I will keep you posted on our good days and our bad days, too! Anyone else want to share what you might be doing? I know that JOAN at Whatever I Think… has some greast advice, too! Go see how she is doing it!

  2. A cute personal trainer helps 🙂

  3. I am pulling for you Doraz. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you will crush that goal. You have more mental and spiritual fortitude than I can ever wish to achieve. You are an inspiration and your kindness, your wise words and your friendship inspires and challenges me to be a better person on a daily basis.

    • Eric, I know you are focused and ready for the challenge! When you play on a team, you help each other out…like we will all do for one another! 🙂 Did you have a good breakfast? I had Raisin Bran cereal with a glass of water and am working on my second cup of coffee. I am off to the gym in a little while….you? 🙂

  4. Great post Doraz! I think it’s great that people want to take charge of their health. Pineapple salsa that sounds really good. I like Kelly’s idea Go Team!

  5. DORAZ I HAVE GIVEN SOME TIPS ON LOSING WEIGHT TO ERIC IN HIS BLOG. SEE IF U CAN TRY IT . I AM DOING IT TO MAINTAIN MY WEIGHT . I HAVE BEEN WEIGHING ALMOST THE SAME 62 KGS FOR THE PAST MANY YEARS. IT IS AFTER FORTY THAT ALL THIS BLOATING USUALLY STARTS FOR MANY PEOPLE.

  6. Good luck to you guys! I have stepped up my program as well. I have managed to regain about 10 pounds of the 60 I had lost 2 years ago.
I don’t diet, I keep with my program of proper eating and exercise. Breakfast is a must! I ride my bike for 30 – 45 minutes a day depending if I am trying to lose weight or just maintain. I eat healthy food, grilled or baked versus fried and I eat them in the right amounts.
If you think about it people years and years ago ate alot of food because most of them went out into the fields and worked all that food off. Our society no longer does a lot of manual work but we still eat like we do!
OK sorry to go off on a long post!
    Good luck!

    • Just a Mom, what do you mean? I love all of the advice you gave! It is so true. We need to eat a good breakfast, not a lumberjack breakfast! LOL I go agree that you need to make a lifestyle change…for the rest of your life! LOL 🙂

  7. I wish you and Eric much success in this endeavor. I’ve got to get on the bandwagon myself.

  8. If I had the power, I wouldn’t be 20# overweight!

  9. Thanks for the linky love. That’s great that you are working so hard for your health. I have never tried pineapple salsa but I’m going to buy some. It sounds good. I agree with you about the positive attitude. Never say Never!1
