What is the CLOSEST you have come to a MIRACLE?

  1. Well, here is my story……

Three years ago this June, I woke up one morning and dragged myself out of bed and headed for the coffee pot as I do every morning. On my way to the coffee pot, I began to notice a bad case of heart burn coming on. As I started the coffee my youngest son ran into the kitchen to say good morning and plant a kiss on my cheek. Normally, I pick up my son at this time so he can give me a kiss and wish me good morning. Since I was feeling very well, I went looking for the heart burn medicine in the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom, opened up the medicine cabinet, grabbed the medicine, shut the cabinet door and looked in the mirror. What I saw really freaked me out! The only color in my face and neck was dark grey. It was the strangest thing I had ever seen and really scared me. Just when I noticed the grey color, I began to get very dizzy and light headed to the point where I couldn’t stand up any longer. I took what little energy I had and stumbled into the bedroom and fell onto the bed. My three year old came in and I asked him to get me the phone before I passed out. I really thought I was going to pass out but I knew that if I did, I was most likely never going to wake up again. I somehow knew this and just tried as hard as I could to NOT pass out. My son brought me the phone and I called my wife to tell her what was going on. I know I should have called an ambulance but I really wanted to hear my wife’s voice.

To not make this story any longer, I will fast forward to the hospital. I was stabilized in the ER and brought to a room. My doctor came to me later to let me know I had a pretty good heart attack and I needed surgery to find out exactly what was going on. I underwent surgery and came out of it A-OK. My doctor said I had a 98% blockage in one of my arteries which caused my heart attack. My doctor said I was very lucky to have not picked up any heavy objects that morning. I told him that I pick up my son EVERY morning for a good morning hug and kiss. He actually said that if I would have done that like I normally do, my heart would have burst from the pressure and strain and I would have died before I even could put my son back down. He said it would have been almost instantly.

My miracle is that I am still here. I am still alive. I have been given a second chance on life.

I also view all of our children as miracles!!!

    • Gary, thank you for sharing your story. I am sure it is tough on you every time you look back. Looking back does make you look ahead, too! You have a GREAT attitude on love, family, and all that is important in life! I am so happy you are still around to share with us all your crazy doings! Thanks for being YOU! *(*

    • Wow Gary. At such a young age. I’m so thankful you’re alright.

  2. Getting really frustrated the other day & NOT DELETING my blog.

Driving past Hungry Jack’s (Burger King) & not going in.

Being told to Get %$#@$ recently by a kid of only about 16-18 years old & NOT smacking his head in for him

    • Tony, you have those miracles flying your way! lol Hang in there! I am so happy you did not delete your blog and kill someone in the process! LOL Have a great day! *(*

  3. Nice story Gary, you were so lucky to still be alive

  4. Life… every day. And children.

(Gosh! What a story, Gary! Bless you!)

  6. hmm…great question! The birth of my 2 daughters and oddly enough the death of my mother.
Every morning that God allows me to wake up!

  7. I would also say giving birth.

  8. I’m still waiting for a miracle for my son. I just want him to stop drugs and be happy. When that happens it will be a miracle.

  9. My first daughter was born 2 1/2 months early at 2 1/2 pounds. The fact that we are both here today is a miracle. this is the story http://erasundar.wordpress.com/2009/04/04/heroin-for-babies/

I am also moved, reading the comments before me. I’m glad that everyone is OK – they have some truly amazing stories.

What about you Luisa? What’s your miracle?

    • I also believe the birth of my two boys was one of the most amazing miracles! One of them was 10 pounds 4 ounces and the other was 11 pounds 1 ounce! I had them both C-Section!
Another bizarre incident occurred when we had our RV. To make a long story short…We needed new tires. We had them all changed out. We were driving home on the freeway. We hear a noise, and right before our eyes…we see a rear left tire, flying in the air to the right. Another left rear tire rolling right in front of us! My husband miraculously got control of the RV and got us off the freeway, seconds before we flipped over! I believe my deceased dad and my deceased father-in-law, held on to the tire stems and helped us over. The tire to the right flew 30 feet and hit a guys car..who later sued! Some of the lug nuts flew into the windshield of a car on the left, luckily they were not hurt.

  10. Oh, the place where we bought the tires did not tighten the lug nuts right!!!! No, we did not sue them? We should have! We were happy to be alive! After that, we sold the RV! 😦

  11. Lot’s of Miracles, nice to hear peoples stories about miracles. I’m sure I have miracles around me just nothing radical comes to my mind. LOL a radical mirracle.;+)
