People are lonely. People are scared. People are looking for someone to reassure them. People are looking for someone to just give them a bit of hope. They are looking for someone to bring them peace. They are looking for someone to show them love and compassion. They are holding on to what faith they have. Do you recognize these people? Do you take the time to really “look” at someones facial expressions and pick up on all the scars or sadness on their face? Or, do you choose to ignore them? Do you choose to live in your little world, and not “worry” about the rest of mankind? Do you figure you have enough problems, you do not need anymore? I challenge you all to take the time to hear the “hidden message” behind what a person is telling you. Do not just hear the words, hear the expressions. Feel the anguish. Feel the pain. Feel the reaching out. Seek the “hidden message.” If you are successful, you will have goosebumps and a smile on your face!

“Do you take the time to really “look” at someones facial expressions and pick up on all the scars or sadness on their face?”
I love this line and I hope I find myself recalling it as I note the scars on the face opposite mine.
attainingme, thank you for those kind words! Hope your weekend is eventful!
I make it a point to smile at people at the Supermarket. Sometimes it’s the only smile they will get that week.
S.Le….that is EXACTLY right on!!!
Wonderful Post. To be aware of what is not spoken and to care, and to reach out in some way or visa versa. Is the great compassion we give each other.
Starla, everyone needs those hugs!!!
I am a good listener . When two others are talking I observe them . I am a good smiler too.
Iviss, thanks for being who you are to others!
I listen and read the expressions of the people I love and friends. I always have done that. I have learned to “read” people well actually and offer assistance or get them to talk about what is bothering them. Sometimes just listening to someone is all they need to feel better.
A good listener is hard to find because there are sooo many people who love to hear themselves talk!!!
This was very powerful to read. I’m wondering how I could have missed this one yesterday. It’s very easy to “ignore” what’s going on around us but you really miss so much of life if you don’t “feel” other people and really know them.
