Geez, Do I Wanna Be Invisible……….! *)*

“The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don’t know what you are doing, someone else does.”

Well, I do not live in that small of a town, but CLOSE ENOUGH! I wish some days I could just say a command, and POOF…I am invisible! You know, those days when you just DO NOT want to see some one you know on your trip to the post office, but THERE THEY ARE! You see them standing in line, and you ask yourself, “Should I go, or stay?…TOO LATE..I’ve been spotted!!!!! Great! Then you have to become that “fake” person and SMILE when you would rather spit! Stop laughing at me! So, in those situations, I guess you do the best you can ,since you decided to live where you are living ,and handle what goes with it….. right? I guess! Oh, I could always move! Then it just starts all over again, with NEW people! Oh well, I know…GET A GRIP, right? It was fun to write this, I feel better now! *)* Oh, have a great weekend!

  1. What a funny story! We all have wished to be invisible at my house, as well! Maybe one day they will invent a pill we can take, for a quick get a way!

  2. Funny. You have a weird sense of humor! I love it! I wish I could be invisible, too. It would be fun to sneak up on people I know! LOL

  3. I understand, Some days it would be nice to be invisible. Ive moved a few times to different states the anonymity is nice.

  4. There are days I’d like to be invisible also but I do live in a very small and rural community. Even if you don’t know who is waiting on you or standing behind or in front of you, they still YAK, YAK, YAK your ear off. Mostly that is a good thing really. Getting to know the people who live around you. Other times, not so much.

The only thing that is nice about this is that so many people don’t know their neighbors anymore. Remember “block parties” and potlucks and cookouts where all the neighbors came or if you needed something, a cup of sugar, you could just go borrow it? People don’t seem to do that anymore and I think it’s sad for the young. Living where I do, we do rely on our neighbors and we help each other out. If someone drives by and sees your driveway is full of snow, they will just clear it for you and expect nothing in return but knowing, you’d do the same for them.

I think we’ve lost that *loving feeling* and we need to get it back so our young people can know what it’s like to accept everyone and I think it’s a good way to learn empathy and to think of others and not just of yourself.

Sorry I got so long winded! It happens 🙂

    • I agree, Joy. That is why I know almost ALL of my neighbors. I lived where I am now since 2000, and I feel a part of the community. I also know all the local shopkeepers and enjoy talking with them. They give me a lot of my material in comedy! They have fun sharing their crazy stories with me! I am talking about those days when you get up in the morning, notice you have no milk, decide to run to the store, “as is” and you see the local personal trainer! They, of course look “hot!” Me, NO COMMENT!i

  5. I know exactly what you mean Luisa. I live in a rather large metropolitan area and it seems like everywhere I go, I see SOMEONE I know. It drives my wife crazy! I can’t go put gas in the car or stop at a quickie mart for a soda without running into someone I know. Sometimes, I DON’T WANT to run into anyone. I just want to get my soda and get out without having to stop and talk to someone. 🙂

  6. What’s bad is when you have to run out “as is” and run into your hairdresser!!! She must be thinking, “don’t tell anyone I do your hair!!”
