As she sat and looked at the people

surrounding her world this eventful day

She realized that her life would be nothing

without her friends and family present

They could get annoying

They could get loud and crazy

They could say and do things that would make you scream

But silence in their presence would be devastating to ones heart

A tunnel of nightmares would begin

So, just be who you are

Say what you like

Be happy to be alive!

PRINCESS AND A FROG….yum yum JOKE*

Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat, contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle. The frog hopped into the princess lap and said “Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am, and then, my sweet, we can marry and setup housekeeping in castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so.”
That night, the princess had frog legs seasoned in a white wine and shallot cream sauce in her dinner.

A Nativity Story for Children*

Real Meaning of Christmas by Brian K. Walters

In today’s day and time,
it’s easy to lose sight,
of the true meaning of Christmas
and one special night.

When we go shopping,
We say “How much will it cost?”
Then the true meaning of Christmas,
Somehow becomes lost.

Amidst the tinsel, glitter
And ribbons of gold,
We forget about the child,
born on a night so cold.

The children look for Santa
In his big, red sleigh
Never thinking of the baby
Whose bed was made of hay.

In reality when we look into the night sky,
We don’t see a sleigh
But a star, burning bright and high.

A faithful reminder,
Of that night so long ago,
And of the child we call Jesus,
Whose love, the world would know.

Help children learn about the Nativity by selecting a safe, sturdy, attractive, and kid-friendly family Nativity set made from materials such as plastic, fabric, or wood.

There’s more to Christmas than presents, turkeys and trees. The nativity story has delighted children for hundreds of years and, unless it is against your beliefs, it is good to keep up the tradition. There is a good selection of books available to help you, ranging from straight retellings to humorous ones.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE..too easy…too good!

I first posted this DELICIOUS RECIPE……on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. The recipe got a lot of hits! Everyone loved it! I thought it would be GREAT for the holidays! Let me know what you think after you make it!

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
**********

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mugAdd dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

 

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Chocolate Pudding in a Mug
Serves 1

In the early days of microwave ovens, a recipe like this was always part of the demonstrations given by manufacturers’ home economists. It proved how fast and how much fun the microwave could be. It still does.
1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons sugar

3/4 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. In a large mug (at least 12 ounces), dissolve the cornstarch, cocoa, and sugar in the milk.

2. Microwave on high for 90 seconds, or until mixture boils.

3. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.

Substitutions: Instead of cocoa, use 3 tablespoons chocolate bits. Stir them into the hot pudding with the vanilla. Instead of vanilla, use orange zest, grated or very finely julienned.
