Your eyes hold the power. It can be that look you give with your eyes when you really want something. It could be the way you glare that sends a message of power to someone who is disturbing you. It could be the power you radiate when you are laughing and your eyes show that sparkle in them that expresses happiness. It could also be the blank look you give a person when you do not really care what they have to say to you. I try to make it my business to notice the eys of people around me. I immediately gravitate to those people that I feel are not having a good day. I feel that it is my privilege to express to them some kind of love and support that will get them to smile. Most of the time I look into eyes that are saying, “What the hell does she want?” I just ignore that look and keep talking. lol I did this today when I went grocery shopping. That always seems to be the best time. People either love to shop or they are just there because they need to be. So, watch out for me if you live in my neighborhood. lol If you do not, I guarantee you that there is someone out there just like me looking…so beware. lol

I believe that the answer will be different, depending on who you ask. I believe the answer will reflect the life of that person and the challenges they have faced. If you lived a cozy little life with no problems, your answer will be on the positive side, right? If you lived a life full of pain and suffering, your answer will be more loaded down with thought, right?

I guess I believe that there is not one answer, but thousands of them.

To me the meaning of life is death, the ultimate reality.

When you are at a party… do you lean more towards being  an “observer” or a “participator?”

Why is that?

Well folks, TEXAS wins. I am happy we have a decision. Now we can go full speed ahead with moving plans. I will be driving out with my son, and hubby will come when he can get away from work. It is nice that he is self employed, huh? I hope he can help with our searches for furniture, apartments, and all of that fun stuff. The area of Texas my son will be moving to is nice. My mom is already wanting to go on a plane trip to visit. This is someone who NEVER wants to fly anywhere! Now, she is packing her bags. lol I can get to my son in 2 hours by plane, and one and a halk days of driving. I have a lot of friends who want to go for a visit once my son is settled in. He is just rolling his eyes at that! lol Does he really think he can get rid of me? lol I am a lot happier now. My blogging friend Joy gave me some great advice about emplty nest syndrome. She told me to talk..talk…talk about things. Well, I am talking and I am blogging. Thanks for listening.

Empty nest syndrome is a general feeling of loneliness that parents or guardians may feel when one or more of their children leave home; it is more common in women. The marriage of a child can lead to similar feelings, with the role and influence of the parents often becoming less important compared to the new spouse.

A strong maternal or paternal bond between the parent and child can make the condition worse. The role of the parent while the child is still living with them is more hands-on and immediate than is possible when they have moved out, particularly if the distance means that visits are difficult.

 Social and cultural factors

When children move away, mothers can get what is called “Empty Nest Syndrome”, which is generally accepted as the lonely, abandoned feeling of the home being empty. In order to fill the void of the empty house, many people look for something that is living and breathing that will take their mind off of their feelings, like a pet.

Empty nest syndrome has become more prevalent in modern times, as the extended family is becoming less common than in past generations.

In many cultures, such as those in Africa, India, the Middle East, and East Asia, one’s elderly parents are held in very high esteem and it is considered almost a duty to care for and respect them. In contrast to most Western societies, extended families were common in those places. However, nowadays, even in these countries, as cities become more Westernized and industrialized, values are gradually changing. It is sometimes rather inconvenient or impractical to live with or care extensively for one’s parents in a modern setting. Empty nest syndrome is starting to surface in some of those nations and regions as well, where traditional values come in conflict with Westernization. This has been especially the case for Hong Kong and India.

We are born into an air of confusion. Noises and activity surround us everywhere. We are keen to what gets us attention. We continue on the road that never ends.

As we grow older, out brain is feed with information we have to learn to process, or we will continue to exist. We develop ways to stay alive and survive, not wanting to face the alternative. So, we continue on the road that never ends.

There are days that I wish to swim. There are days I wish to fly. There are those days I want to call a taxi!! There are days I wish the road would end. What makes me get back on that path? What makes me even care? What gives me the strength to face the challenges thrown my way? It is faith. Faith in mankind. Faith in our existence. Faith in our destiny. Faith to believe.

May you all find the strength to take hold of the challenges that present you with an attitude of defeat. Believe in yourself and what you are able to do. Keep your faith in whatever you wish to believe. Make it happen.

Are you one of those people that cry at night because someone said something to you that was mean and hurtful that you did not deserve? Are you one of those people that are really affected by what people think and say of you? Do you believe what is being said is true or you just do not know what to say, so you just agree and get yourself all upset over it? Well, I believe a person should be able to realize their strengths and weaknesses, on their own. It is fine if someone is trying to help you in a professional way, but if someone is just being ” not very kind,  why let it bother you. In my opinion, it is just THEIR opinion. They have a right to say and do what they want, but they do not have a right to hurt others in the process. I say, “Just ignore them.” Say to yourself, “it is their problem, not my problem.” “I am not that way, and they have no right to say it.” I do not care for those people out there who have a low opinion of themselves, so they feel like they can be a “bigger person” if they are cruel. That does not work, in my book. I believe in myself. I know who I am. I know what I need to work on personally. I have a grip on reality. So, I say just say”Thank you” and walk away. Do not spend moments in tears. Spend moments in triumph.
