What is the biggest mistake that people make when they meet you for the FIRST time at a social gathering or event?

For some reason, people think I am from Spain! I have a deep tan, at all times. Maybe they feel I talk with an accent. After a while, I just go with it and have fun! My husband laughs at it!

A truck driver who delivered some stuff to work once thought I was Yugoslavian, don’t know why?? he said I just looked like one….
An ex-english truck driver when I lived on the big north island asked what part of the Mother Country I was from. I said Queenstown, He said “Oh aren’t you from England?” I said “No, Tasmania”
When I 1st came back to Tasmania a customer asked what country I was from, he said he was trying to pick my accent. 5 years on the Australian mainland must’ve really affected my language badly.
